A man who was over heard just 4 days earlier saying he would kill his girlfriend has been put in jail after killing her with one punch.
Daniel Bragg aged 37 punched his girlfriend Julie Cook aged 44, breaking her left eye socked during the assault which took pace at Pokesdown Railway Station following an argument.
After being hit Julie Cook fell to the floor hitting her head causing serious injury. Bragg initially left his girlfriend unconscious on the platform but later returned and took her back to her flat. She died two days later in hospital.
In court Daniel Bragg admitted to the charges of manslaughter and was given five years and four months in prison.
Bragg initially denied the killing of his girlfriend but proceeded to change his plea on the second day of his trial which took place at Winchester Crown Court.
In April a Domestic Violence Protection Order had been put in place to preventing Bragg from contacting Julie Cook but the couple continued to maintain contact.
A friend of the couple said only four days before the killing they heard Bragg say something like 'if we carry on like this I will end up killing her'
